BABYMONSTER Scores First Million-Seller With Full-Length Album… Milestone Achieved Ahead of Comeback

BABYMONSTER has achieved their first million-seller with their full-length album [DRIP], marking a major milestone just over a year since their official debut.

According to YG Entertainment, BABYMONSTER’s 1st full-length album [DRIP] has recorded a cumulative total of 1,011,352 copies sold as of today. It took about seven months since its release on November 1 of last year to hit this mark.

Even at the time of its release, [DRIP] showed early signs of major popularity. First-week sales reached 677,961 copies, 1.7 times higher than their previous album [BABYMONS7ER]. One week after its release, pre-orders had climbed to 820,000 units.

Album sales are considered a key indicator of core fandom strength, and this achievement further highlights BABYMONSTER’s rapidly rising trajectory.

With a packed schedule of promotions lined up for the second half of the year, final sales numbers are expected to grow even further. Kicking off with “HOT SAUCE” on July 1, BABYMONSTER will follow up with a second single in September and a mini album in October.

On August 16, they’re also set to appear at Japan’s biggest music festival, ‘Summer Sonic’, expanding their touchpoints with music fans.

Meanwhile, their new song “HOT SAUCE” is an old-school hip-hop track that channels the vibe of the mid to late 1980s.
